January 29, 2014 Kelly Birthday

It was really nice today to stay home from work and just relax!
Roger made me an awesome breakfast in bed of hashbrowns and an omelet that he put this wonderful bbq sauce on and it was fantastic.
We lounged around and watched movies.  Roger got take out from Chili's to eat while we watched Captain Phillips and then had chocolate birthday cake with mint ice cream.
Friday we will go to the comedy club for my day out :)

January 25, 2014 Soup Party

tonight was our Annual Soup Party at our home for friends, neighbors, and anyone else who wants to come :).  I believe this is the fifth year we have done this.

Roger enjoyed the morning with James Dabb in Lehi at an event to learn how to smoke different types of meat.

Roger came home and set up the tables and chairs for the guests while I made soup, broccoli cheddar cheese soup.  It was a fun night to socialize with friends and neighbors while eating soup.  This year attendance: Dabb family, Neighbor who lives across from Dabbs, Briggs family, Ferrin family, Elderdge family, Button family, Austin and Bryson from young mens, and then later in the evening, after most people had left, the Ardizzones came by.  It was nice to visit with everyone.  While I didn't spend a lot of time with Roger, we always enjoy a simple evening of entertaining at the house.

January 24, 2014; Movie Night, Attempt 2

What is with the AMC theater at Layton Hills?  Went there in an attempt to use our free tickets again to see I, Frankenstein.  Once again the movie we went to see was sold out, in fact they were all sold out last night.

We headed home, stopped by Winco on our way, and picked up frozen pizza (for Roger of course) and chicken wings.  We cooked them up with some popcorn and rented Instructions Not Included.  I really loved the show!  It has a surprise ending and a great message.  Sometimes a cuddle on the couch and some snack food is not so bad afterall.

January 18, 2014 Movie Double Date Night

I really had a lot of homework to do today, but Roger was great about being patient and waiting for me to go out on a date.  In efforts to give me more time, he invited James Dabb to come over and cook a really nice dinner for Tiffany and I.  They made steaks with a side of roasted peppers and mushrooms, garlic potatoes, and tomatoes/cucumber/mozzarella salad.  Then they had purchased sticky rice and mangos for a dessert.  It was very good and them cooking at home saved us time and money from going out to eat.

Then we went out to Layton to go to the AMC theater to see Jack Ryan.  It was sold out.  We ended up coming back into Ogden to watch the show at MegaPlex (only we didn't have free tickets there).  Since we had a little time before the movie started, we browsed around Deseret Book, then played a couple games of air hockey at Fat Cats, and then went to see the movie.  I really enjoyed the movie!

We got home almost midnight, and I stayed up until 2:00am finishing my homework...gotta love being in school.

January 17, 2014 Car Show

Tonight we attended the Car Show at the South Town Expo Center.  I got off work a little late because of parent teacher conferences, but we had an enjoyable evening.  I love hearing Roger get all excited about the features of the cars and we dream about owning a new car again when we can afford it soon.  Afterwards, at 10pm, we went to IHOP for a little something to eat.  Roger got a dinner and I just needed to have an ice cream sunday :)

January 11, 2014 Home Show & Gymnastics Competition

After Roger was finished with a new member trip to the temple, we attended the Home Show at the South Town Expo Center and dreamed about changes we could make to our home.  Afterwards, Roger endured through a gymnastics competition with me at the University of Utah as we competed against BYU, Boise State, and USU.  I really enjoyed that :)

Jan 3, 2014 N.H. Holiday Party

We spent the evening at Neighborhood House's staff holiday party.  Dinner and socializing, a little music and then we came home.
