March 8, 2014

Tonight we had reservations to take a class at For Your Kitchen on Cafe Rio style cooking sweet rice and pork.  Roger and Amanda spent the day refinishing the kitchen table while I worked on school work.  By late afternoon we were all exhausted.  It has been a busy week and Roger just really didn't want to go out again.  Last night we bought the second Thor and Hunger Games movies so we decided to stay in tonight, make some popcorn and just relax.

March 7, 2014 Dinner and Home and Garden Show

Tonight after work Roger, Amanda and I went to dinner at Sweet Tomato then went to South Towne Expo for the Home and Garden show.  We were at the expo about three hours until we were exhausted and ready to head home.  It has been a busy week this week but it was fun to get out.  We always like to dream a little about our home and yard.

February 28, 2014 Bill Cosby

Tonight we went to Kingsbury Hall to see Bill Cosby!
We went out to dinner with Roger's dad, sister Barbara and her daughter Jackie who were in town visiting.  Amanda went to my Melissa's house for the evening and stayed the night and came home Saturday evening, so we had the morning and most of the day Saturday all to ourselves.  A nice little break.
I enjoyed the Bill Cosby show.  Roger mostly did, but had trouble with his knees and sitting in those seats so he walked out a little early.  The show started at 8pm and went until 10:30pm.  A little longer than he could hold out.

February 17, 2014 President's Day & a Movie

Roger woke up early this morning and went to work, I had the day off.  Amanda and I did a few things around the house and then did school work.  Roger ended up getting off work early so he came home.
Amanda had to be at work at 1pm, so we dropped her off and went back out to Layton to the AMC theater for our free show.  Finally, we were able to get into a show, although not the show we wanted.  We had gone to go see Monument Men but ended up watching Robo Cop instead.  It was alright.  Since we were early for the show, we walked around the Layton Hills Mall for a little bit.

February 22, 2014 Kelly, Amanda, Molly, Noah

This afternoon I took Amanda, Molly, and Noah with me to the Safe Kids Fair at the Southtowne Expo center where I was running a booth and obstacle course.  Mostly they played and looked around while I worked.
Afterwards I took the kids to a gymnastics meet at the University of Utah against Oregon State.  Molly really loves gymnastics and I knew she would really have a good time.  I was glad Amanda seemed to have a good time as well.  Noah enjoyed a good amount of it, but soon grew tired and was ready to go.  I relented to letting him play a game on my cell phone for the last 15-20 minutes of the show.
On our way home we stopped for ice cream sundae's at McDonalds and talked about our day.  I had a great time with the kids.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, not really sure), Roger stayed home by himself all day.  He wasn't really interested in coming, as I knew he wouldn't be.  We left at noon and didn't get back until almost 10pm.  He said he had things to do and I know for part of that he enjoyed the peace and quiet since things have not been so good with Amanda lately.  I know there are times I really enjoy just being home alone for awhile.  I am really looking forward to my date with Roger next Friday.

February 21, 2014 Saving Mr. Banks

This morning I suggested to Roger that we invite some couples over tonight and play some games.  He hesitated and then indicated that he had a long week and was very tired and would prefer to not have anyone over because he didn't want to fall asleep or feel like he had to stay up late.
That evening on the way home, Roger asked what we should do that night. Knowing that he didn't want to stay up late and that we were getting home at a good time, that we make a nice dinner together.  We hadn't really had dinner together since Monday night so I thought that would be really nice, especially since we both love to cook.  When we got home we looked at different things to cook and I was singing the song to Mary Poppins for some reason.  Roger suggested we go out to pizza and I suggested we rent the movie Mary Poppins while we were out.
Roger said there was a movie called Saving Mr. Banks that was about the making of Mary Poppins and that we should rent that instead.  Turns out, it doesn't come out to DVD until April, but it was still playing in the discount theatre.  We didn't have time to go out to eat and the theater so we made a quick salad and Roger, Amanda, and I went to the movies. I really enjoyed the show, and I still want to see Mary Poppins :)

February 15, 2014 Brigham Temple

This afternoon Roger and I attended a sealing session in the Brigham temple.  We stopped at Kentucky Fried Chicken on our way out to get something to eat before our session.  The sealing session was really a great experience!  Then we went to DQ for ice cream on our way home.  That evening I did have to finish a school assignment, but the afternoon together was very pleasant.  We also spent much time in conversation about Amanda since she has to make some major changes in her life this week and we discussed the best ways for us to address this with her.  I like working together with him no these things.
